Diabetes, also known as diabetes mellitus, is now prevalent in most of the population. Some types of diabetes are present from childhood. It is impossible for people with diabetes to eat all kinds of food as they like. Following are the types of foods that can help keep diabetes under control:


1. Fish rich in fatty acids

Salmon, sardines, herring and anchovies are good foods for diabetes.  All of the above types of fish are foods rich in omega fatty acids. Taking these foods at regular intervals increases the chances of surviving heart attack due to diabetes. Further Fish is a high protein food, therefore it helps to reduce growth and other defects.


2. Varieties of Green Spinach

Green leafy vegetables and vegetables are good for the body and are low in calories. Eating plenty of green leafy vegetables is good for the eyes and can help prevent complications like cataracts caused by diabetes.


3. Yogurt

Yogurt is an excellent food for diabetes. It controls blood sugar levels and reduces the chances of heart disease. Daily consumption of yogurt also helps in weight loss. By eating, type 2 diabetes can be controlled.


4. Types of nuts

All types of pulses are nutritious for the body. It contains fiber and are easily digestible proteins. Legumes like almonds, cashews and walnuts are acceptable foods for diabetes.


5. Broccoli

Broccoli is an excellent vegetable. Half a cup of steamed broccoli contains 27 calories and 3 grams of digestible protein. It also contains vitamin C and magnesium.


6. Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar includes many health benefits. When it is made from apples, the sugar in it is converted to acetic acid. It helps balance low blood sugar. It has the property of controlling appetite and preventing junk food intake. It is better to take a tea spoon of this in a glass of water daily. And if you have it with food, 20% of sugar level is reduced in the blood.


7. Garlic

Garlic is a nutritious herb and includes many benefits. It helps in controlling blood pressure. Regular consumption of garlic in garlic juice and food can help control diabetes. It helps to dissolve inflammation and fat. Although diabetes can not be cured permanently, other disorders can be prevented.
